Synchronized Swimming video sample
Here is a sample of Synchro! We will learn Sculling, the tub, ballet leg, the shark, the porpoise, the collapsing clam, and others. The unit is designed for basic swim strokes and workout, followed by learning stunts and practicing the stunts, then we will form groups and work on putting together routines. This unit is a highlight and most students enjoy this unit tremendously! More updates to come!
Fitness Testing and Health Lessons completed!
"Working on our flexibility - playing a game called "GRAB BAG"
We spent the last few days Fitness testing all of our classes...This is a compilation of the MILE RUN (cardio test), the SIT & REACH (flexibility test), MODIFIED ARM HANG (upper body strength), CURL UP (muscular endurance test). The girls did a great job! They are learning the Healthy Fitness Zone and what it takes to improve and fall within the zone.
Also, the 7th grade girls had a puberty lesson - a DVD demonstrating the changes their bodies are going through and common issues they may face. We had a question and answer session that followed.

6th and 7th grade Christmas scavenger hunt
The last two days before the break, the students spent the class running, skipping and jumping around campus looking for things to do with Christmas - a scavenger hunt! They split into groups, raced around looking for items on the list, such as "a Christmas tree" and took a picture with the item and some of their group members. Here are a couple of the photos from the activity - which happens to be one of the highlights of the year! Happy New Year!
