8th Grade: Weight Room!

We finished Pickle Ball with a mini tournament - great fun in Pickle Ball!

Recently we began our Weight Room Unit. We introduce the girls to the weight room, emphasizing technique, proper form, and low weight with higher repetitions.
We have learned 26 circuit machines - how to adjust the machines, find the joint pivot point, and proper technique. Now, we are ready to roll. We will workout with the circuit for a few days and then we will add the cardiovascular equipment.

7th Grade: COED DANCE STARTS!

We finished our Tennis unit, after completing some great drills, small games, and even large class challenges like "Jungle Ball". A game where players cover different parts of the court and play tennis against 5 or 6 other players. We also played "Queen of the Court" and "River".

Now to dance! We started the unit with basic line dances - with the purpose of working "socially" with the opposite gender, to move (dance) for exercise, to learn some basic dances, and of course, to have fun!

Today we learned the Macarena, the Cupid Shuffle, the Cha Cha Slide, and the Electric Slide...Very Fun!

I will try to video tape end of unit routines and post here! check back in a couple weeks!
